A N Central Conference occurs as College Athletic Conference which operates in the north central United States. It participates in the NCAA's Division 2.

3 schools left a conference within 2004. North Dakota State University, the University of Northern Colorado, and South Dakota State University are all transitioning their athletics software online from either Section 2 to Section We. These schools became institution members of the Section I personally-AA Great West Football Conference, which started play in the fall of 2004.
